A drink, or beverage, is a kind of liquid which is specifically prepared for human consumption. There are many groups of drinks. It can be divided into various groups such as plain water, alcohol, non alcoholic drinks, soft drinks (carbonated drinks), fruit or vegetable juices and hot drinks. In addition to fulfilling a basic need, drinks form part of the culture of human society.

Coffee comes under the bracket of hot drinks. Coffee is one of the most popular drinks in the world, along with water and tea. Coffee has been a central beverage in many cultures in the world for thousands of years.

Coffee began as a spiritual and medicinal beverage in ancient cultures. In the present day, nearly all developed populations have a thriving coffee culture and drink this beverage every day.

Coffee can be prepared in different ways and as a variety of different drinks including instant coffee, filter coffee, espresso, French press, decaf, Aeropress, Turkish coffee and cold brew, to name a few.
